Charlotte, North Carolina Night Life: Hit All the Hot Spots

Only in Charlotte, North Carolina, do the clubs greet visitors with such hospitality. It's almost as if they expect you to stay the night -- and if they were open all night, you just might do so. A good time is guaranteed to all who step in the front doors, and on any given night at any number of Charlotte hot spots, you'll have no problem finding great live music, dancing and a few tasty beverages to help you cap off the perfect evening. Though there are far too many great Charlotte clubs to list in completion, consider a few favorites to help energize your evening.

The Double Door Inn, North Carolina

Live music and a true southern North Carolina feel make this establishment “Charlotte's Home of the Blues.” This is no hole-in-the-wall venue, as names such as Koko Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Luther Allison and even Eric Clapton have graced the Double Door stage. It doesn't matter what night you happen to go, the stage will boast musicians doing what they do best. Sing along, dance, have a few drinks, or grab a table and relax while you enjoy the atmosphere.

Breakfast Club

This place is no joke. Rubick's cubes, jelly bracelets, tuck-rolled jeans and hair bangs that challenge Newton's law of gravity can all be found here. Taking the popular “80s Night” one step further, the Breakfast Club is an 80s club as well. As Annie Potts stated in the 80s classic, “Pretty in Pink,” this place might make you “O.D. on nostalgia.” However, if you're looking to dance, have a great time and yes, reminisce, the Breakfast Club will fulfill your nightlife desires.

North Carolina'a Buckhead Saloon

Offering loads of space, live music and nightly drink specials, this popular joint is your answer to enjoying a slice of the Charlotte nightlife without feeling like you need to look your best or plow through a crowd of people to wait 30 minutes in the line for the restroom. Come as you are, after a business meeting or after eating at Burger King. You'll be welcomed in this establishment and the staff will insist you kick your feet up and stay awhile. This venue could definitely qualify as one of the top attractions in North Carolina.

TILT

TILT is crawling with the after work crowd looking to unwind as well as the locals who live to socialize. You can enjoy the entertainment/sports on the multiple flat screen TVs throughout the club, lounge comfortably with a drink or mingle with the crowd. Though most patrons will sport a business look or some of their finer duds, TILT still serves beer in the bottle and cocktails in clear, plastic cups -- don't be shy about showing up comfortably in t-shirt and jeans.

These selections should help get your Charlotte evening started after a great dinner at one of the great North Carolina restaurants, and if one club fails to tickle your fancy, you've got three others with different vibes to choose from. And if you're in the mood to explore for a Charlotte hot spot, don't be shy about strutting the uptown and downtown streets, as several options will be presented around every corner.
