Siesta Beach is said to have the whitest and finest sand in the world. In 1987 at the “Great International White Sand Beach Challenge," Siesta came out the winner. This is one of the few in the world with 99 percent of its sand being quartz instead of coral. This means the sand is almost always cool so usually there are no worries about walking on hot sand. So special is the sand at Siesta Beach, in 1994, the Travel Channel named it “The Best sand Beach in America."

No Florida vacation is complete without enjoying some of the state’s major attractions. Being close to the coast, marine displays hold pride of place, with Sea World being an all-time favorite. Sea World is home to killer whales, seals and dolphins, and young and old fun seekers flock to this park to enjoy the aquatic display as well as the rides -- especially the Kraken. Kraken is the floorless, monster roller-coaster ride that travels at 65 miles per hour and goes as high as 140 feet.

However, the kid in every adult will enjoy the wonders of Walt Disney World just as much as the little ones. You don't necessarily need to be an animal lover to be thrilled with a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While there, there are a number of adventures you should not miss, including the “It’s Tough To Be A Bug” show -- a 3-D extravaganza of a bug’s world filled with amusing antics. The 53-year old Wolfie Cohen’s Rascal House has been an institution on the Miami dining scene since its doors were opened in 1954. Talk about dining in casual comfort, this is it –- be prepared to see surfers just coming in from riding the waves or a formally dressed worker stopping in for a slice of their delicious cheesecake. Wolfie’s menu is intimidating – the choices are many and it’s hard to choose. Indulge in free pickled cabbage while waiting, then order up a fresh bagel or an old-fashioned beef stew. There’s no reservation necessary so don’t be surprised to see a line of waiting customers; service is quick and the meal will be worth the wait.
