Florida Vacations
Just about everyone can enjoy great Florida vacations without emptying their pockets. That is what Florida vacations are all about – having fun without spending a bundle. Florida has the reputation of having the most theme parks, entertainment centers and hotels than any other state in the U.S. This makes Florida the ideal vacation spot – there truly is something for everyone!
Beaches, Beaches and More Beaches! Florida has some of the world’s nicest beaches, with some consistently making the top ten lists of noted publications such as Dr. Beach’s list of America’s best beaches. Keep in mind that although some
Florida beaches are free, many have a small entry fee attached. Luckily, the beautiful white sands and the wildlife are more than worth the entry price.
Caladesi Island State Park is more than a beach, although its pristine white sand, which is also extremely fine, is a main attraction. It is rated the third-best natural beach in the United States. Apart from swimming and sunbathing, visitors can go fishing, or collect eye-catching seashells which are bountiful and just wash ashore before your very eyes. One of the most treasured aspects of Caladesi is the peace and tranquility it affords visitors.
Siesta Beach is said to have the whitest and finest sand in the world. In 1987 at the “Great International White Sand Beach Challenge," Siesta came out the winner. This is one of the few in the world with 99 percent of its sand being quartz instead of coral. This means the sand is almost always cool so usually there are no worries about walking on hot sand. So special is the sand at Siesta Beach, in 1994, the Travel Channel named it “The Best sand Beach in America."
Awesome Florida Attractions No Florida vacation is complete without enjoying some of the state’s major attractions. Being close to the coast, marine displays hold pride of place, with Sea World being an all-time favorite. Sea World is home to killer whales, seals and dolphins, and young and old fun seekers flock to this park to enjoy the aquatic display as well as the rides -- especially the Kraken. Kraken is the floorless, monster roller-coaster ride that travels at 65 miles per hour and goes as high as 140 feet.
Being the home of Walt Disney World in
Orlando, Florida, this is a must-visit for Florida vacations especially for children. However, the kid in every adult will enjoy the wonders of Walt Disney World just as much as the little ones. You don't necessarily need to be an animal lover to be thrilled with a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While there, there are a number of adventures you should not miss, including the “It’s Tough To Be A Bug” show -- a 3-D extravaganza of a bug’s world filled with amusing antics. Be sure to look around for
cheap Florida theme park tickets before heading out.
Hot Florida Nightlife Fun-loving Florida has a bustling after-dark scene that offers nights of shimmering skin, music and fun. New York has nothing on Florida when it comes to night time entertainment. If bar-hopping is your thing, Florida has more than its fair share of bars serving just about anything the heart desires.
If you’re in the mood for wine, hop on over to any of the numerous wine bars scattered across the Sunshine State. No one in their right mind will miss a stop at Mansion Nightclub on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. There is something for everyone, from dance to hip-hop, Rock and '80s hits. Make sure to arrive early to be guaranteed a place inside. The $20 to $30 admission fee is money well-spent.
Delicious Florida CuisineThe 53-year old Wolfie Cohen’s Rascal House has been an institution on the Miami dining scene since its doors were opened in 1954. Talk about dining in casual comfort, this is it –- be prepared to see surfers just coming in from riding the waves or a formally dressed worker stopping in for a slice of their delicious cheesecake. Wolfie’s menu is intimidating – the choices are many and it’s hard to choose. Indulge in free pickled cabbage while waiting, then order up a fresh bagel or an old-fashioned beef stew. There’s no reservation necessary so don’t be surprised to see a line of waiting customers; service is quick and the meal will be worth the wait.
Whether enjoying heart-thumping, soul-stirring Latin music or the soulful beat of jazz as you relax after a long day of fun, sun and sand, Florida offers adventurous travelers just about everything under the sun.
