The XYZ Bar is located in the W Hotel and it doesn't matter if you're looking for a spectacular martini or someone to cozy up with, the XYZ is where it all goes down. The bar is nicely dark with colorful accents to guide your way, the drinks are marvelous and the partygoers are refined and well attired. Seating is available, but due to the popularity of the club, don't count on sitting. To grab some food and take a break from the excitement, head downstairs to the connected restaurant.

2.) Martuni's
Located between the Castro and Downtown, Martuni's is a favorite spot for the after work crowd. To the rear of the bar, through a curtained divider lays the true treat of this establishment. A piano bar makes up this area and entertainment is ongoing thanks to many local artists and musicians. After a couple of drinks, the crowd begins their nightly ensemble renditions of Broadway’s greatest and yep, you'll find yourself join in.

3.) Matrix
After a few cocktails, you may feel like scaling the walls like Keanu in the film of the same name, but don't worry, there are no cyborg mercenaries here. What you can expect at Matrix is a comfortable setting, complete with a roaring fireplace and stellar drinks. There is live music and the tables and booths are roomy and well spaced. The place does fill up though, and you may need to be guided there if it's your first trip as there are no outside indicators.

4.) Loft 11
From the ultra-white VIP room to the glass dance floor, Loft 11 attracts the sexiest people in San Francisco, California. It's extremely well known for its tremendous theme parties, although getting in to them could prove difficult. It's best to find someone in the know. 5.) The Redwood Room
Masterfully restored, this gorgeous bar set in the historic Clift Hotel is a favorite among the city's trendsetters and celebrities. Legend has it that the wood on display inside was all carved from a single redwood tree, hence the name, and it provides a rich, dark luster to its ambiance. The drinks are sweet, deceptively strong and they're served by waitresses ever so skimpily attired.
