Funky and friendly, the AJ's Cafe offers good coffee served in an unpretentious way, a surprisingly large menu, plenty of leg room and comfortably stuffed chairs, local art on the walls, and live music nearly every night. Check out the bookcase in the hall leading to the back door. It's a serendipitous collection of books left by patrons, and next to it is a free literature stand that provides a snapshot of Detroit area artists, musicians and causes.
