This town is amazing we stayed in a historic hotel downtown with a very old elevator they gave us breakfast vouchers and free late night coupons for cocktails we walked everywhere and returned to the hotel to find the outdoor bar packed and music rocking there is so much to do in this small southern city. And you get the feeling 'they want you there' with signs on public buildings 'welcome restrooms inside' open air eaterys and bars tons of shopping and art. And you HAVE TO TRY Pappa Russ' brisket that alone is worth the trip. Yes its horse country but we ride motorcycles a perfect place for a weekend get-away....highly recommend it.

The town itself has lots to offer and historic Augusta is only a short drive away. If your other half prefers golf no problem.
