excellent location for touring state

good spot to come in if you want to see all the state offers-day trips for all points north-santa fe, taos, etc. took 2 days to see southern part of state-stayed at inn of the mountain gods (awesome room!) all in all-loved it! take tram to top of sandia peak-eat at mexican restaurant at base. lots of casinos to visit if you're so inclined. ... Albuquerque, NW, is it worth the trip?

I have been to NM several times since my sister moved there, the winters can be very cold and the summers very hot, the downtown area is small and there is not much to do. I must say that lately it seems there has been a lot of new construction and shopping malls and shopping over all has improved a lot. Do I think is worth the trip? definately NOT. Check out some local restaurants for Mexican food. Some parts of town are best avoided after dark(sorry to say). U of NM is there. Drive outside city for beautiful scenery and take the time to visit Santa Fe. ... Read Full Review | Report This

Good southwest food!

I was in Albuquerque in April and despite the description in the travel guide of it being a temperate climate the weather can be unpredictable and I was surprised at hold cold it was (it snowed while I was there) so if you're expecting a warm desert destination in the winter I wouldn't go here. It must have to do with the altitude as its pretty far south on the map.
