3.Old Town is charming
I've been to Old Town Alexandria many times and it is a charming historic town that sits right on the shore of the Potomac River. There are many shops and historic houses as well as some pretty good restaurants. It's very enjoyable to walk around and there is a bike trail that bisects the town and connects Mt. Vernon to Washinton, DC. Also there is an art center called the Torpedo Factory (it actually was one during WWII) where you can view and purchase local art and watch the artists in act... More
