Since its humble beginnings in 1957, this downtown art festival has become one of the largest of its kind in the country. Held the second weekend in June, it draws hundreds of artists and thousands of visitors annually to the historic Allentown neighborhood. Exhibits are set up on Delaware Avenue from Allen to Edward Streets, and on Allen, Edward, and Virginia west to Elmwood Avenue. Art categories include painting, photography, jewelry, crafts, mixed media, and clay. Artists can enter a juried competition with cash awards totaling more than USD35,000.
