Found in the 1979, Museo De Altamira is a scientific and administrative entity that manages and conserves the Cave of Altamira. The museum conducts various research activities concerning with the paleolithic form of art found in the cave. It also conducts various workshops and lectures on the pre-historic art and other cultural activities. The museum also includes the New Altamira Cave wherein the visitors can see how the caves looked around 15,000 years ago. And also observe the huge exhibition at the gallery which comprises of the details of the life and art of the pre-historic in Altamira.
