Altoona is my hometown and it is a beautiful place, especially in the spring and fall. When I go back there for a visit, I usually stay at the Comfort Inn. The place is very, very clean and they have a great Continental breakfast. In the summertime, it's fun to catch a baseball game, when the Curve is in town. It's a beautiful new park and the team is exciting. Also, there are fireworks periodically throughout the summer. The one exception as I see it - never go to Minuet Manor. It was a g... More

It was a gorgeous place 40 years ago, but just a 'pit' now. Have a GREAT time !!!!
