Amsterdam is wonderful

We were in A'dam for 6 nights in 2003. Loved the museums, canals, was moved by the Anne Frank house, etc. There was a juxtaposition of charm and tawdriness (red light district, etc.) that we hadn't seen elsewhere. We enjoyed spending time sitting at outdoor cafes along the canals. We only stopped to "have a smoke" on our last afternoon there...just to say we had done it. IF THERE WAS EVER A PLACE TO LIVE AND TRULY ENJOY LIFE AMSTERDAM IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. DO NOT GO TO SEE THE COUNTRYSIDE VIEWS , GO THERE TO EXPERIANCE A COUNTRY OF GREAT PEOPLE & CULTURE. IF THE USA REPLACED ALCOHOL WITH SOFTDRUG COFFEE HOUSES WE WOULD DEFINATELY BENIFIT BOTH WITH OUR ECONOMY, AND OUR PROBLEM WITH DRUNKDRIVING WOULD DECLINE.WAKE UP AMERICA OR I AM HEADING BACK TO AMSTERDAM ... Most Romantic City

Was lucky enough to get to spend three weeks in A-dam in May 06'. Have been wanting to go back since. The achitecture, along with the canals and sheer beauty of the city, puts thhe city right at the top of my "Most Romantic." Try it with an open mind, take along plenty of money, and enjoy! ...
