Has this restaurant got an identity problem, or is it wonderfully eclectic? You decide. It's certainly quite a strange concept - modern, world cuisine served in an ancient and atmospheric, if slightly gloomy, 17th century building. This is both its strength and its weakness - it may be unique, but it's hard to know what to make of it. Put your doubts to one side, however, and you'll discover why this place is full most nights, with booking essential at weekends. The cuisine is certainly exotic, taking in practically all areas of the globe - example dishes include Vietnamese Spring Rolls, Falafel with Red Cabbage Salad, Bouillabaise, Cajun Squid and Thai Green Curry - so whatever kind of food you're into, you'll find it here, there is a non-smoking area and children are welcome. Most of all though, perhaps its popularity lies in the fact that there aren't many places where you can eat top-class world cuisine surrounded by Tudor splendor — it's certainly different.
