been there for one day from a cruise ship. remeber sitting outside at a tropical bar and having a great drink, shopping and taking a taxi to a historical landmark on a cliff above a beach. It had to do with the British , some kind of fort.Bought beads from hawkers at this site. Almost mandatory if you want to get back to town.Toured the country somewhat. My Husband and Myself have been to Antigua 3 times and Loved every minute of it.The beautifull beaches and the people are worht the trip.The Island is a very poor Island, but so are many other Islands , along with many cities and countrys every where.But it is a Trip worth taking, the weather is just gorgeous, and for those who love sunsets and photography, Antigua's Sunsets are worth a thousand trips back.Try it ...you'll want to return again & again, Resorts and Hotels are priced moderate to ... have been to the Isl. 3 times. Big Island, very green, alot of small beaches,weather was good, and frendly people. On the down side, dificult to get around, they drive fast and roads are junk, taxies are a rip off, very exp. ... Read Full Review | Report This

Benn there 3 times and would love to go back. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth. As for your stay in the box thinking.....please try and see every place is not like your home.
