The Chelsea is the worst hotel I have ever stayed.
Disappointments after disappointments.
I chose this hotel based on overall good customer reviews and 4-star rating.
I stayed at the annex part of the hotel. According to the hotel's own description which I missed to recognize earlier Annex offers retro-motel style accommodations updated with fresh new beds and sumptuous white bedding.

Room was small.
Room has the worst TV i have ever seen in any accommodating rooms anywhere. No menu and caption function and no paid movie were available from the TV It was very small (17-19 inch).
The bathroom was small. Shower curtain smelled bad. No sign of having been updated.
The worst part of all was the noise from the street. The window had almost no effect of blocking the traffic noise. The frequent sirens from ambulance and fire trucks startled me many times every night..
The closet was missing a door.
The furniture was ugly-looking.
Housekeeping service was not good. The maids while cleaning the rooms nearby from 9AM made a lot of noises. Slapping noise of the doors happened every minute. When I called front desk to complain of the noise she at front desk told me that it was from the room being cleaned. I needed to call housekeeping to get bathroom supplies.
The lobby lookedalright.
The street nearby is distance away from the main part.
On cost-performance basis I paid twice more than what I should have.

The Chelsea represents the new "hip spot" in Atlantic City. The rooms are impeccably decorated and have great amenities such as large flat-panel TVs Full mini bar (an amazing and convenient touch) Kiehls bath products comfy beds and more.

Be sure to check out the center of The Chelsea's "scene" The Fifth Floor. This is home to The Chelsea's roof-top pool which in my opinion ranks the best out-door pool in the city (yes better than The Water Club's). A friend of mine described the scene as like "one out of Entourage". Cabanas music blaring beautiful people hanging out (and nursing hang-overs form the night before) with excellent bar and food service. But that is not the end of it.

The Fifth Floor is also home to the hotel's other party spots including a bar dance/party room (adjacent to the pool) "The Living Room" with pool table and other intricate areas to let loose or mellow-out (fire place is a nice touch).

Chelsea Prime (the hotel's highly acclaimed Steven Starr steak-house) is also located on The Fifth Floor and is OUTSTANDING! Also check out Teplitzky’s a retro-style Steven Starr diner on the property. While I enjoyed my lunch there I believe that they need to expand their menu along the lines of a traditional diner.

The Sea Spa was not open yet at the time of my visit but the beach had great F&B service and that was all I needed.

In summary check out The Chelsea and the “New” Atlantic City that it ushers in. You will be truly surprised and hopefully appreciative of this highly regarded recommendation.
