The state park side offers life guards clean beach parking bathhouses and bathrooms. The other entrance offers free access lots of private areas to enjoy just beyond the state park. Depending on the time of year there is good driftwood and shell collecting options. Having been to Tahiti and Hawaii -- I would say that Popham Beach has just as much to offer as they do plus more! Tahiti has \no waves at all\ and Hawaii has \giant waves\! The Maine coast has it all! The water however is a bit colder!! :-(
