BANFF 
Only a 2hour drive from the Calgary airport on Canadian Hwy 1.  Beautiful drive westward over the flat plains into the Canadian Rockies.  Have stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel about a half dozen times and have always enjoyed this beautiful grand hotel.  The view from the hotel of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking.  Their are trails around the property to take walks, a 24hr cafe/deli is open in the hotel, great spa and a fabulous outdoor heated pool.  I have only been there in NOV/DEC and have always had a relaxing enjoyable time.
I've taken day trips to Lake Louise, and have stayed there, but still prefer the ambiance of Banff and the Banff Spring Hotel.....Enjoy
