We are a family of 4; my wife and I and 2 children ages 15 and 12. We are also Caribbean travelers having been to many islands. There is nothing unusual about the island and, their currency is pegged to the British pound making food and every other purchases double what you pay in the States. Ex. dinner at the highest rated restaurant (mediocre quality) on the island for the 4 of us ran $600+ with my wife and I only having 1 cocktail and no wine. The people, the beaches, the accomodations were all splendid. I felt warm and welcomed and relaxed. Bridgetown was a bustling city where we saw peddlers who were not overly aggressive. Hospitality everywhere. Only a miserable American could find fault with a trip to this spectacular island. ... Read Full Review | Report This

There is much to do and see in Barbados but Bridgetown is really a zoo!, one cannot walk a foot without tour and taxi peddlers jumping on you and the stores are super commercial and one on top of each other ... Read Full Review | Report This

Went to Barbados from a cruise ship for one day. Hubby played golf at Sandy something golf course. Toured the Island, saw sugar cane farms, mango trees along the road, Claudette Colberts (old time movie star)home. Cant remember too much about the place. Did not stay long enough.
