Baton \Lots to Do\ Rouge

We are from Ohio and truely enjoyed the years our daughter was in vet school at LSU and we would travel to see her at least twice a year! Baton Rouge is an interesting layer upon layer of history! To say it is a boring middle sized city is just unfounded. The burgeoning artsy WareHouse District is a must-see the wonderful farmers' markets in the downtown district the historical State capitol building wonderful food riverboat gambling nearby plantations..........and the wonderful people! To say it is a boring middle sized city is just unfounded. The burgeoning artsy WareHouse District is a must-see the wonderful farmers' markets in the downtown district the historical State capitol building wonderful food riverboat gambling nearby plantations..........and the wonderful people! If you stay we highly recommend the Embassy Suites and their wonderful breakfast staff. Be sure to say hi to Miss Jean!

Baton Rouge is pretty much like any other medium sized city in the south. (Montgomery Mobile Columbus Augusta Colombia etc.) nothing special...except that it is 45 min from New Orleans. You wont be disappointed to make the drive. ... More

Driving around Baton Rouge you can stop at any Restaurant and get a fine meal. If you want a super burger you can find it here!!! (secret)...Las Palmas has the best Border Burger and Fries best ground beef cooked to your liking with sauteed green peppers and onions and melted cheese on top....where's a grandma to slap?!!!!! This one's so gooooood!!!Go to any Restaurant...Ginos Pocorellos for authentic Italian....The Sunset to watch...while dining downtown up at Scerranos Sushi....outside lookou... More
