one of the greatest cities in the world

next to sf berlin is one of the great cities in the world...the people are friendly you can walk in the middle of the night the streets without being afraid...and the museums and art is first class..........i plan to retire there... ... Read Full Review | Report This

Loved the city

My grandfather was from Berlin and, unfortunately, I have not had the opportunity to really explore the city. I was there for a few days and felt as though there was still so much to see and do, particulary as an educator in WWII history. Additionally, I tend to be a romantic and have always pictured Berlin as the turn-of-the-century city, not the newly modernized one of today. Berlin is just one city. I loved Germany much more than France

I was stationed in Germany several times over many years. In 1955 -1956 I was in Augsburg, 1959 - 1964 Berlin, 1964 -1966 Heidelberg, 1971 in Nurnberg. I am African-American and I was treated with lots of respect (respect is two way) I also respected the people and never even in my first tour acted as if we had won the war (WWII). I learned the language, traveled all over the country and enjoyed myself. I went back to Berlin and Hannover for a visit in 2001 and plan to return this coming ... Read Full Review | Report This

LOVED GERMANY

I was stationed in germany twice , while in the military, for a total of twelve (12) years. I found the people there very friendly and willing to help regardless who you were. The country side was very beautiful and the fact that you could go walking in the forest with no fear of snakes or wild animals. Yes, i would return to Germany at the drop of a hat. ...
