i vacationed in Ireland in Aug 05. Kissed the Blarney stone I did. Ireland is one fo the most picturesque countries i have visited. Found my Irish cousins to boot.

I loved it! The most beautiful place that I have ever been. Friendly people and lovely historical places to go. My son kissed the Blarney stone twice!

The grounds are absolutely beautiful!!! I went with my school's study abroad program last summer ('07) and when myself and a few others went to Blarney it was perfect weather. I have great pictures and memories from it. The climb up to the stone is pretty steep and strange because it is a very narrow spiraling staicase. It was a tourist ripoff though because to get pictures you pretty much have to buy their pics because it's too difficult to get your camera to capture the right shot because there is a guy that has to hold you while you bend over and he kinda gets in the way of the picture. Although i still don't think I have the gift of eloquence yet but maybe someday.

In 1966 and 1968 I visited beautiful Ireland and of course I kissed the Blarney Stone! For years the memory of the gorgeous country kept beckoning me back. Finally after 32 years in 2000 I made a return trip. I traveled by myself with a car up North then East West and South and was VERY disappointed! I hardly recognized anything.... the country had changed so drastically! Before leaving the US I had even toyed with the idea of buying property and retiring there. The whole essence of the country was a great disappointment. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. For first timers traveling to Ireland it may be a nice trip but anyone planning a return trip I would not recommend it you will be disappointed. I will never go back.........................

Blarney is beautiful but a 3 hour wait to kiss the Blarney Stone in a very hot confined area (stairs) in the castle with European tourists who do not wear deodorant was almost too much for me.
