I must agree with a previous poster. The job market is VERY problematic in Boise. I have lived in Boise on and off a few times since my early childhood. It was a wonderful place to be a kid in the 70's...but as an adult who must work for a living it is very difficult. Even in good economic times it can be frustrating. Unless you can snag a government job or possibly a job at Micron or HP (all of which is very difficult now that the economy is tanking and a questionable future for Micron) you wil... More

Unless you can snag a government job or possibly a job at Micron or HP (all of which is very difficult now that the economy is tanking and a questionable future for Micron) you will find yourself working for a low wage temp. agency. I no longer live there now...i live in an eastern city with a great job market and decent wages. If you are wealthy and don't need employment or are considering opening your own business...you will do fine in Boise. It IS a beautiful city...and i wouldn't mind retiring their some day when i'm out of the job market...but all of that natural beauty doesn't put food on the table or money in the bank!

Been here over a year with College Degree and 20 years experience and they offer me 7$ an hour. I cannot even get in my car and drive to a job for that. Sit at home depressed and ready to move back to a real city with real jobs. Boise is a very depressed area!!! 1.5 million people and do even have public transportation or a Pro team. Travesty!!...
