There's not much to do on Bora Bora. And that's the good news. Shopping? forget it. Adventure sports? forget it. But, if you like sun, and warm water, and incredible restaurants serving amazing food in quite improbable surroundings (eg. sand floors) this is the place. The best hotels are on the Motu that surrounds the Bora Bora lagoon, and there are a bunch of them. We stayed overwater at the St. Regis, and it simply could not have been better. Complete with a full service spa, great rooms, lege

After seeing Donobvan's Reef in 1963, and many, many times afterward, I swore I'd go to Bora Bora. Went there in 1984 (Club Med-you get what you pay for) with 1st wife. Went there for Honeymoon in 2001 with 2nd wife (Le Meridien-Wonderful). SCUBA'd with local black tip shark (the island pet) and giant Manta Rays, and found the WWII US Navy cannons on top of Mt. Otemanu. I intend to go back at least once more befoe I die ! If you enjoy polynesian music and dancing don't miss Haeva 1st week

Thirty years (1979) ago my wife and I went to Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It exceeded all of our expectations once we were out of the capital city. The farther from the city, the more friendly the people, the wilder the beaches, and the less clothing was required. James Micheneer famously described Bora Bora as the most beautiful place on earth and I would be a fool to disagree with him. Of course with the physical beauty of the islands you must includ

My dad and I cruised the Tahitian Islands in the 80's. After being on Bora Bora for about 3hrs, I turned to him and said, "gee, too bad I'm traveling with you, this place is so romantic." His response was, "I was just thinking the same thing about you." We had a good laugh but never forgot how wonderful that Island was. Since then I have felt that Bora Bora is the most romantic place on earth, and I have seen a great deal of this earth. May her beauty and tranquility never end.
