I went there on April 25 of this year and found it to be a bit run down. My 7yo. daughter loved the rides but was to small for the Cyclone. We did have a Nathan's dog with fries which we enjoyed. Yes the place is now full of Russians which I find to be a good thing as they are the type of people to take pride in their living quarters. I hope Coney Island will improve over time.

ASTROLAND....THE FIRST ON THE LIST? LOL WOW THE PERSON WHO MADE THIS LIST OF AMUSEMENT PARKS REALLY HAS NEVER BEEN TO CONEY ISLAND. ITS A GOOD PLACE FOR LOCALS BUT TO COME FROM AFAR AND GO TO ASTROLAND IS JUST DUMB. PEOPLE WHO STAY IN A HOTEL IN MANHATTAN AND TAKE A TRAIN TO CONEY ISLAND ARE JUST WASTING THEIR TIME. ITS HISTORY THE HOT DOG... BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS PRETTY WACK.

I heard from a friend who still lives in NY that they are closing Astroland. SHe said they were still going to have an amusement park and the cyclone will still be there but if they do building more condo's in the area it is only a matter of time that it is gone all together. The area is fine during the day and the NY aquarium is right there. You can park in the lot for a fee. Take the family see the sharks walk the boardwalk and ride the rides. Don't forge tto go to Nathan's. Still the best hotdogs.
