Perhaps Peter lorre or Sydney Greenstreet wood be sitting in the Lobby and the Concierge Msr Dadi offers Impeccable service. Ah the old world Brussels!

I am a USA citizen living in Belgium for 4+ yrs. I love Brussels beautiful city with tons of culture. To the person who called Europeans rude: you need to learn about different cultures and understand them. Europeans as a whole are NOT rude at all. You get what you give--did you try speaking French or Flemish while you were here? A simple 'bonjour'? Try learning a bit about the history of Belgium and why they seem 'stand-offish'. The Grand Place is beautiful at Christmas-time; every other year they have the 'carpet of flowers' in the Grand Place which is awesome' in September there is a Belgian Beer tasting festival in the GP--over 400 different beers in Belgium and each one has to be served in it's own glass! So much to do and see in the beautiful city--check out the surrounding area too. Be careful buying 'real' Belgian lace in Brussels...most lace there is made in China. Belgian chocolate is to die for; buy some Belgian cocoa in a grocery store--you'll never cook with Hersheys again! Walk up to the Grand Sablon and have a hot chocolate at one of the chocolatiers-YUM! Travel to Brugges--\Venice of the North\. Eat at a restaurant outside of Brussels...and enjoy the 2+ hr long meal..very relaxing. Good site for restaurants: www.resto.be ; can be read in English. Since Jan '07 no smoking in restaurants. Also Brussels is a good central city to travel out of easy access to London and Paris. Also a European 5* hotel is NOT the same as a 5* hotel in the USA; air conditioning is not like it is in the US either. Bon vacance!
