Buffalo is a great place for food. The resturants are on top of the culinary game with a wide range of foods available to the dining public. From take outs to fine dining there is something to fit your both your taste and your wallet. Most of the ethnic cuisine can be found around town but if American Cuisine were a play that people wanted to see then Buffalo would be the stage to showcase that which is best in American Cuisine. The Bar Scene is hard to beat. Again ranging from vibrant sassy and noisy to quiet and romantic. Whatever your tastes you can find it in Buffalo. I can't explain it coming from New York City where there is simply more of everything but if you spend a summer evening taking in the people the air and the light at the dozens of open air eateries throughout the city such as one can find in Allentown or off of Niagara or by Delaware Park Hertel Ave.; you will know happiness. Happiness becomes bliss if you have somebody to enjoy it with.

Elmwood village was recently rated one of the best places to live. there are lots of great shops and restaurants on elmwood. oh and if you like to have a good time be sure to head to chippewa st. There are so many great colleges with great exihibits and theatres and there is such a vibrant art life. the Allentown art festival is definitely worth checking out. theres a lot of great music and great food. all i have to say is goo goo dolls and buffalowings. and if youre lucky enough to get tickets theres nothing quite like a buffalo sabres game. There are very few cities in the country where the people are are welcoming and helpful as they are in buffalo. theyd give u the shirt off your back or gladly take a picture for you in front of niagara square.

Thanks to PBS I found myself in Buffalo mid-summer to check out architecture. Yes! If you didn't know Frank lloyd Wright lived here for a few years and built both offices and residential houses in the area. We went to see 'Graycliff' in Derby a few miles south of Buffalo. This is a summer property built for a local industrialist. Fantastic view of Lake Erie and Canada so highly recommended. There are other buildings too like the M&T bank downtown that is incredible. We arrived on a Sunday night and found that most restaurants downtown were closed. We found an Asian restaurant in the Theatre district that was quite good with a fusion menu and great selection of pre-dinner Martini drinks. Buffalo is easy to stay in if you are going to Niagara Falls or Toronto. You can cross over to Canada downtown to hit the QEW freeway to Toronto or if you are going to Niagara Falls take the local route Niagara Boulevard that takes you along the shoreline up to the falls.
