This temple is particularly famous for its Cham statue from the 15th century. The statue spent many years hidden in a tree trunk after the Khmer's overran the area, only to be found again by local farmers in the 18th century. Followers of the Hoa Hao Buddhist sect visit this temple from all over the world. Buu Son is just outside of Bien Hoa, the capital of Dong Nai province and is approximately 28 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh. In 1959, Bien Hoa was the site of the first US casualties in Vietnam.
