Went to Cabo on a whim December 2006.  It was the best vacation I have been on.  Plenty to do and see.  Safe and no car is necessary because everything is within walking distance. Try the night life at El Squid Row. Lots of fun and spent 4 out of 6 nights there.  The tequila pours readily so don't do anything there your stomach can't handle.  Avoid the jello shots at this place because they shove them down your throat and they are $5 dollar a pop.  Have fun its worth it.
