Stanley Park in Vancouver, Canada
Vancouver

Vancouver is the city that has it all: natural beauty and cosmopolitan flair. Set between the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains, it has a harmonious blend of nature and urban living. Gardens, parks, and beaches are as common here as heritage buildings, restaurants, and theatres.

While maintaining the laid-back attitude of North America's West Coast, Vancouver has managed to build an international spirit. As the third largest city in Canada, it shares an ethnic diversity and multicultural flavor with the rest of the country. It's young, lively, and the jumping-off point for many spectacular outdoor activities.

Downtown

Vancouver has vitality and style. Nowhere is this more evident than in the downtown core. Its first distinct feature is Stanley Park, located on the west end of Georgia Street. This 1000-acre park includes an 11 kilometre Seawall promenade, old-growth forests, hiking trails, and the Vancouver Aquarium.

Downtown is the city's largest shopping district. One of its main arteries is Robson Street, a highlight for both locals and visitors. It's... more

My husband and I went to Vancouver, Victoria and Campbell River for three weeks. We took one of the 3 hour whale watching tours in Victoria and were disappointed. I had researched before we got there and we decided to drive the distance to Campbell River which is not far and a beautiful scenic drive. I had researched before we got there and we decided to drive the distance to Campbell River which is not far and a beautiful scenic drive. We booked a whale watching expedition with Discovery Marine Safaris and it was well worth the extra time and money. We stayed at a little place that's called Rustic Motel, don't let the outside fool you it was very clean and had a great breakfast from 5-11am with plenty of sitting. The Capt of the Eagle 33 was very knowledgeable and lunch on the tour was delicious, just a sandwich with fresh fruit and veggies and dessert but a variety was offered. We also toured all over Vancouver and enjoyed it greatly, there is lots to do. Be sure and look for the cowgirl performer on Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria she was great. There are so many great restaurants to choose from, whatever type of food you like they will have it in Vancouver. North Vancouver Hotel was clean and friendly, conveniently located. Avoid the Howard Johnson in Victoria, it is conveniently located but very dirty and the staff is horrible to it's customers.

My husband and I just visited Vancouver last month. We had a blast. We drove from Seattle WA to Canada. The Visiting Center was great. They provided a wealth of information that made our travels even better. They booked our hotel reservations for us a well. A must see place is the Musuem of Anthropolgy. After you finish in the museum take the 300 plus stairs down to the beach. It's gorgeous. Clothing is optional for the beach :) If you ever get a chance to go there.....GO!... More
