We went there for our honeymoon and I spent half the trip in bed-severly ill from food poisoning. We have traveled many places and this was the most disgusting place we have ever been. You had to wait to get into the restaurants, if you got in at all, the food was awful and they did not even put alcohol in the drinks. Not to mention the food poisoning! The room was damp, dirty, and ant infested. The bed was so hard we woke up stiff every morning. The staff was rude, pushy an dalways looking... More

The room was damp, dirty, and ant infested. The bed was so hard we woke up stiff every morning. The staff was rude, pushy an dalways looking for a hand out. This may be all-inclusive but I am not sure what it included except a bad time. When I think of all the money we spent on this place I feel sick all over again. Please do not go it is definately not worth your money or your health.

You may be hearing, Mexico in February, great honeymoon destination and you won't break the bank. Please take it from us, don't buy into this one quite yet, especially at this resort. Our first day, we were offered an upgrade, which we paid about $300 US for by the way. This single decision completely erased our honeymoon package. The hotel manager had us under a barrel and he knew it, he did little if anything to help us out. So we lost all the romantic things they were going to do for us.... More

Our first day, we were offered an upgrade, which we paid about $300 US for by the way. This single decision completely erased our honeymoon package. The hotel manager had us under a barrel and he knew it, he did little if anything to help us out. So we lost all the romantic things they were going to do for us. Also, we had to fight for the little things we did get. It was just terrible our honeymoon was ruined, plus we were stuck in Mexico. Next you may be hearing Gourmet Inclusive. We not quite exactly, everything comes with a mexican twist. So a small taco shell with refried beans in it is what belongs in a caesar salad right? Tips, you associate inclusive with no tips, but maybe I'll tip if they go out of the way. Not exactly, they expect it and try leaving w/o one. You will not get good service the next day and who knows what they will put in your food. The locals love Americans you may think, not exactly, especially in Play Del Carmen. They will try to rip you off on fake stuff, exchange rates if you use your credit card. If you do decide to go somewhere, use a tour group and only shop where they tell you. The Isla De Mujeres trip called Carribbean Fun day is fantastic. Haggle to about $20 US for nice jewerly, they will come get you if you come back after alot of people have left. This is the most special event of your life and your choice to make, in our case it was a very poor choice. I wish everyone the best. Maybe think about the Couples resorts in Jamaica or a nice cruise, if you are going in peak season like we did.
