3.How I Remember the Cape

I grew up in Worcester about 80 miles from the Cape. After the blizzard of '78 I moved to Austin Texas. On one of our vacations I brought my Texas born wife with me. We toured the Cape and then stayed over in some wonderful bread and breakfast inns on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Why doesn't everyone go to the islands? What a fantastic experiences we had on Nantucket although my wife prefers the Vineyard. Nantucket in the Spring is magnificent in flowers. You cannot believe the aroma ... More

You cannot believe the aroma in the air of all of the roses and other blooms. What you see in the movies does not do Nantucket any favors everything on the island is a memory waiting to happen.

4.Don't have to be JFK

However if you spend a lot of money to stay in a hotel...make sure you don't relax you careless creature. If you're looking for a transcendal experience between sea sky and shore....don't. Grab a fruity something in a fancy something....wear something expensive that supposedly looks leisurely and sit your tight-ass down somewhere...and make sure you're not alone so you don't seem a friendless freak. If for some reason some breezy girl walks by and orders you to smile...smile like the dopey id... More

If your boss happens to show up and jumps into the pool in a very expensive suit...do likewise for if you were really rich you'd rent a house in nantucket and do what you really should.

5.Stay away from Cape Cod

Cape Cod in the summer has become a tourist trap. Roads and restaurants are congested with tourists. All the seasonal help are Euoprean teenagers strung out on drugs. Full time families are leaving the Cape for a better place to raise their kids thus leaving neighborhoods looking like a ghost town. There are more gray skies than sunshine. Beaches are fillled with seaweed water is too cold to swim and you are like a can of sardines on the Cape Beaches. Wall to Wall people.....disgusting. ... More
