1.Cardiff: Not the most inviting

The impression of Cardiff was this nice quaint town where there were shops and a castle. That was true however the castle was small and the \larger\ part was actually built in the late 19th early 20th century. A nice place but not really a castle. The gardens around the \castle\ were lovely. Then we went shopping which was OK. The next day we were flying from Cardiff International Airport on bmibaby Airlines to Edinburgh. The impression of Cardiff was this nice quaint town where there were shops and a castle. That was true however the castle was small and the \larger\ part was actually built in the late 19th early 20th century. A nice place but not really a castle. The gardens around the \castle\ were lovely. Then we went shopping which was OK. The next day we were flying from Cardiff International Airport on bmibaby Airlines to Edinburgh. The people at bmibaby airlines were extremely rude and would not allow us to board the flight because we were \late.\ The bus driver even tried to tell them we were not late with his documentation and we still did not get to go on our flight. Eight (8) hours and $618 (just to get to Edinburgh) later we boarded a flight to Edinburgh. The people at bmibaby were still extremely rude and uppity. When we went through security we were quizzed numerous times if we wanted to tell them anything before they searched our bags. The ordeal we experienced at Cardiff Airport and bmibaby Airlines reflects badly on Cardiff. We met two nice people while we were there the bus driver and the front desk manager at the hotel we stayed in who by the way also knew we were on time for our flight. We will not return to Cardiff on our next visit and after hearing our story family and friends are avoiding it as well.
