We stayed at the Francis Marion Hotel in this wonderfully walkable town. That hotel is close and very clean. The town has a great wariety of food and it was all good. The prices were not so bad either.... More

Charleston is a great place to visit. We stayed at the Holiday Inn at MT Pleasant. The stores are great and we love the the bar on the roof in downtown Charleston. Charleston Crab house is the bomb. I would love to visit again.... More

Before the onslaught of "come yuh's" Charleston was a wonderful city - you knew almost everyone and could walk around after dark without fear of being attacked. Now this beautiful city has been spoiled by tourists - taxes have sky rocketed; the Aquarium is losing money year after year; the streets still flood and rich yankees buy the gorgeous old homes below Broad Street and on the Battery - to live in them maybe three months out of the year and then the mansions sit vacant for the re...
