Le Chat Noir is a bustling neighborhood jazz and rock club in historic Carouge. Upstairs is a compact and appealingly run-down bar. On nights featuring live music the cellar bar/stage is opened downstairs. Local, mainly alternative, bands justify the nominal entry fees to the cellar and a tiny dance-floor keeps the aerobically obsessed satisfied. DJs keep the party going late on the weekends. And there are many concerts held on other days too.
