Churchill, Canada Reviews and Ratings

We traveled to Churchill with the Natural Habitat during the week of Halloween.It was a truely amazing trip Natural Habitat had everything planned down to the last detail...the last thing I was responsible for thinking about was getting myself to the airport...they took it from there. We flew to Winnepeg Manitoba spent the night in a beautifull hotel before flying to Churchill via chartered jet. We saw bears within a hour of being there:) We traveled via Tundra Buggy to the Tundra Lodge to spend four days out with the bears...they were everywhere thanks to the cooks special \stew\ of fish brewing on a far outside deck you see they can't bait the bears to come to the lodge but the \stew\ aroma is perfectly legal. the bears came right up to the lodge and under the outside decks that you can use(if you can handle the cold...it was about 0 the whole time but the wind chill is what was tough). The were so close and actually seemed so gentle I just wanted to pet them...The lodge is no 4 star hotel...you had a single bunk and a locker area for your luggage the food on the lodge was amazing we had a private chef cooking truely amazing meals. We then spent two days in the town at a local motel again not 4 star but perfectly adequate. We went out daily in the buggies and even got to take a side trip dog sledding with some local mushers.
