Copenhagen has a wonderful area along the canal where you can eat in outdoor cafes that seem to stretch on forever. The waiters bring out fabulous fare and everything seems like a big mega-party every day. Young people sit along the canal walls and listen to musicians who play or just talk. You can catch a canal ride close by or walk through the parke, Tivoli Gardens, etc., while it's not cheap, it will not break the bank. Some Danish interpreations of American eating terms will lead you to not getting what you expect, although it is all good anyway. The Danes all seem to speak English, the streets are full of gorgeous architecture and the people will generally stretch themselves to go out of their way to help, be kind and accomodating. We were there a week but would love to return to tour the countryside. As with other Scandinavian cities you tend to feel very safe.
