My wife and I just got back from a week's all-inclusive stay. First time in Cozumel or at a Melia Resort, This is not a "5-star "class resort but I give it an overall rating of five stars. I had a room in the tower that was well appointed with an outstanding ocean view. Everything was clean and very well maintained. For the most part all of the staff was helpful, courteous and friendly. An exception to this would be the lazy water sports staff on the beach. It was always "come back tomorrow." The bar tenders were a little slow and indifferent even with tips but they did prepare drinks the way I ordered them. Vacation club/time share salespersons can be a bit of an annoyance. Do yourself a favor. Sit through the 90 minute or so presentation, say no to the high pressure and take their money. The lobby men and women don't care if you don't buy they are just trying to get you to the actual sales people but after you've attended they are even more helpful. See Martin if he's still there.
