Located on Sheng Li Street, a street known for exotic style, the Dalian Art Exhibition Hall is the center of Dalian's art world. Since its reconstruction in 1998 it has sponsored such special exhibitions as the "Japanese Modern Arts and Crafts Show," "Impressive Artworks (replicas) of France in 19th century," and "Masters Chinaware of Jing De Zhen." Its initial building, which was built in 1902 by Russia, is art in itself and is a wonderful example of Gothic European architecture.
