It would be a shame for the traveler to miss out on the entire Rosses area in North West Donegal in the Gaeltacht area. However if you get the courage to drive down the Gweebarra road ( 102 curves in the space of 2.5k) you are in for a treat The best rainbows and the freshest air in the European Community greet the travelers as well as an unusual array of flora which i... See the March edition of Food and Wine for the wide variety of nouvelle Irish cuisine. Although Burtonport is not the busy seaport itonce was due to overfishing you can always get fresh lobster and shellfish at the pier before taking the ferry to Arranmore. On a clear day you can see the planes heading across the Atlantic .

Spent six years in Northern ireland close enough to see the hills of Donegal in the far horizon. They had a local saying there and it was quite true \If you could see the hills of Donegal it was going to rain and if you couldn't see the hills it was raining\... More

Vist Dunlwey Lakeside center see how Donegal tweed is really made. Say hello to just about anyone you won't find friendlier people most are willing to help you with information. Most restaurants have fabulous food. If you want to see REAL Ireland this is the best. Still many Gaelic only speaking people.
