Beautiful but NOT cheap! 
We have had our sailboat in Croatia for nearly 3 years and consider it the best cruising in the world--safe harbours, historic cities and villages, friendly people, clean and efficiently run.  But I would not say the $ goes very far there, at least along the coast.  Their kuna is based on the euro, and you know where that has gone in recent years.  Having said that, it is a must-see in the travel destinations.
