I was driving through one day on my way from Poland to Vienna when I made a left turn across a couple of lanes (noone was coming anyway). There was a cop standing on the sidewalk and saw me make the turn. He jumped off the sidewalk pulled out a little stop sign and held it up at me. Like an idiot< I stopped! We had Polish tags on the car and he commenced to read me the riot act (in Czech of course). I played dumb although I knew exactly what he was saying and kept telling him that I did not understand. I kept telling him I was an American which he did not believe until I whipped out my passport. His demeanor immediately changed he was soooo nice and explained that I \shouldn't\ be changing lanes like that. I thanked him for his help and he sent me on my way.

A miniature Prague/Praha with very little of the charm.Three personalities; the oldclassic parts of the City dating pre-1900 the communist cell block construction and a few very striking modern additions. The people are warm friendly and delighted to great tourists. most aged 25 or younger have had 4 years of Englishm but older folks do not speak any English. try to learn some Slovak/Czech vocabulary before you go. it's only fair....
