You will almost begin to hear the voices of the past as you walk down this area on the Welton Street. Various historic events have etched this place in the minds of all the locals. This is the place which saw the birth of the African-American Jazz music and this is the place where the Emancipation Proclamation of the slaves was first announced. Five Points is now known for the Victorian Houses that are worth a peek for all those visiting that area. Essentially an African-American piece of land, it is far from being a gheto but has become a venue to a large number of events in particular: Juneteent, the festival that celebrates the emancipation of the slaves.
