I have been to Tuscany over 50 times and I have not seen it all!  Florence is the most beautiful city.  The architecture, museums, restaurants, and shopping are unbelieveable. Within an hours drive of Florence are Pisa, Siena, Greve, Vinci, San Gimignano and the beautiful chiati coutryside. I suggest you stay in a villa in the wine country and day trip into Florence.  We used www.tuscanyvillas and stayed at an incredible villa.
