Fort Apugan Agana, Guam

Fort Apugan

183 Francisco Javier Drive

Agana, Guam

phone: +1 671 6465 2789

A Spanish Colonial Era historic location, this site constructed in 1800, served to keep the bay and the city of Agana safe. The duties of this fort included the defense of trading ships from pirates while they were anchored in the bay. The fort was used for defense from raiders until 1898 when it was overtaken in the Spanish American War. While the disassembled cannons and platform remain, the view from this vantage point alone, is reason enough to visit this site. No admission is charged.
