Don't bother going here if you're an American. They detest us. Save your money to go someplace fun iinstead. I'll be sure not to fly into this town the next time I take a trip to Europe even if it means paying a higher fare!... More

You have got to be kidding! I was stationed in Frankfurt for 2.5 years and nobody was happy to see an American in their presence - Your best bet in this town is to stay under the radar and speak the language like a native. Otherwise you can expect to be treated like road kill. Who does these reviews and do they ever speak to American soldiers about local nat ionals?... More

dad was army officer and stationed in germany. we lived in hanau not far from frankfurt. my sis was born in frankfurt became a naturalized citizen of america when we got back home several years later. i fell in love with germany and it's people and being a young gal i easily learned the language. their candy is fantastic and so is their bread and mustard i still crave for it years later. dad was sure to take us to many other towns and villages and the more i saw the more i loved germany. this was many years ago when people rode bicycles more than drove cars on the tiny skinny town roads. it was so quaint and a much slower time then. haven't been there as an adult and due to nobody that i know here knowing how to speak german well i've lost the skill somewhat. such a beautiful sounding language..i must polish it up sometime and speak german to my horses dogs and cats and get good at it again. right now with the way the world is nowadays i think i'd be too afraid to visit some of the european countries but i'm sure that germany is still safe. i'm of norwegian descent have been to my motherland just a few years ago and in my opinion norway is the best country to visit then hit germany next. very nice friendly people in both countries and in norway you'd be surprised at the number that speak english there. plus there's no crime in norway mostly just petty theft in a few of the hotels nothing really valuable ever stolen. no guns in norway and even though some males carry big knives it's just tradition not to be used ever. enjoy the traditions in both countries and you'll not be skimped when it comes to beautiful sights. just be sure to take enough money for souvies...you'll want to bring lots of great trinkets back home with you.
