Our son lives almost 750 miles away from us and we're always happy to visit him in Ft. Worth--not just to see him but to enjoy his new hometown. Also recommended are visits to the Stockyards the FW Botanical Gardens (Japanese Garden is a must-see) National Cowgirl Museum/Hall of Fame and the FW Zoo. There's an endless list of oh-so-good restaurants including our favorites: Bosses Brick Oven Pizza Ginger Brown's El Paseo OC Burgers Taco Bueno--and load up on TX's own Blue Bell Ice Cream. Take a 30-minute drive to Granbury and enjoy the historic town square full of neat shops and friendly people. God Bless Texas!

but love it in CowtownThe way the old saying goes is \You take take the boy out of Texas but you can't take Texas out of the boy\ is right. I was born in Dallas but live most of my life in Ft. I love good BBQ and there are only two places that I can recall having the best authentic Texas style BBQ and one of them is Angelo's on White Settlement Rd. Took my wife there couple of years ago and she does not like BBQ but she ate there 3 of the 4 days we were in town. The whole idea of living in Texas is the people are so friend and laid back compared to Florida where most of the people are extremely rude and obnoxious. Cost of living is another thing. I paid $4.19.9 for REGULAR the other day. How much more ridiculous can it get? Too much to talk about but let it be know that I want to be back in Cowtown as soon as possible.

stayed hereLived outside of Fort Worth for most of my life and I thought living and working in Downtown would be completely horrible. I was so wrong. SO much where to start... stockyards area full of local history places to eat (Star Cafe Cattleman's Joe T's (although I prefer Uncle Julio's) saloons the Stockyard's Hotel Billy Bob's some shopping and a great place to start. The downtown area is GREAT at night it's safe to walk around with carriage rides policemen on horseback bars shopping restaurants etc. For theatre NYC has nothing on Bass Hall; it has many of the same big name plays and artists and the building is beautiful. For shopping Southlake and Grapevine are about 15-20 minutes from downtown. Nightlife try Ovations on Camp Bowie for live local performers and bands. For the best BBQ try the Railhead in Ft Worth or for a great steak the Railhead in Aledo about 15 minutes west of downtown. They also have some of the coldest cheapest beer around and a great Railhead salad! There are 3 art museums the Ft Worth Museum of Science and History is great for kids as is the zoo or go down the road to the east for 10 minutes and there is Six Flags Wet-N-Wild as well as the Texas Rangers and coming soon the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium. Colonial is each May if you prefer golf. It's a great place to live or visit!
