Lived outside of Fort Worth for most of my life and I thought living and working in Downtown would be completely horrible. I was so wrong. The area is amazing, clean and (as a single female) feel completely comfortable walking around at night. The people are friendly and the restaurants (Del Frisco's, Pirahnna's, Houston Street, Reata, Ferre, etc etc) are wonderful and unique. i could walk around for hours just looking at the various places to shop (and then take a break on the sidewalk at Starb

The way the old saying goes is "You take take the boy out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the boy" is right. I was born in Dallas, but live most of my life in Ft. Worth and the moved to Florida. (I know, WHY?) I would move back there in a heartbeat but due to certain situations, for the time being, I'm stuck in New York South. SO much where to start... stockyards area, full of local history, places to eat (Star Cafe, Cattleman's, Joe T's (although I prefer Uncle Julio's), saloons, the Stockyard's Hotel, Billy Bob's, some shopping and a great place to start. The downtown area is GREAT at night, it's safe to walk around with carriage rides, policemen on horseback, bars, shopping, restaurants, etc. For theatre, NYC has nothing on Bass Hall; it has many of the same big name plays and artists and the building is beautifu

Uncle Julio's on the west side is wonderful. Hey yankees they also have places in Chicago, Maryland, Virginia as well as Texas. You might know the place as Rio Grande in Bethesda, MD, Gaithersburg, MD or Reston, VA. Go first thing on a Sunday and have the Cadallic platter, lobester with your choice of faitias and the side order of beans are to die for!!! Just like my mom still makes. You can even watch them make homemade tortillas.

I was born in Fort Worth, but haven't lived there for over 3/4 of my life. I love the town and if I could I would move there over any other city any day. I love the food, all the food, from the Mexican Inn to Angelo's hot links to Cattleman's steaks. I have lived all over the US and visited many countries outside of the US and even to Russia, not there is no where else in the world that has better food as for hamburgers, BBQ and Mexican Food than Fort Worth, Texas. You can take the girl ou
