Furnas, Portugal Reviews and Ratings

You can take a mineral bath/swim in Furnas before you have a great meal in a local restaurant for cheap!!! I'd suggest a Hotel in Ponta DelGada;and hiring a guide/taxi from the main square by the unique gate downtown.Usually you can get the cabbie who drives you from the aeroporto to your hotel to be your Island guide which could include the trip to Furnas...all day for around $100.00 US.....and Ponta Delgada has some great restaurants and more activity than the Furnas area....but if you want peace and quiet,Furnas is inland away from the Atlantic Ocean which surrounds this and all the Islands which comprise the Azores.Faial is a wonderful island...much smaller than San Miguel with lots of activity in the small city of Faial. Go, and have fun at reasonable costs with great value for your money!!!
