This informal garden features a lake, sensory and heather gardens and trees and shrubs of botanical interest, including extensive collections of azaleas and rhododendrons. Younger visitors can explore secret paths and play log cabins. A restored forest cottage, thought to date back to 1560, houses an original fireback with bread oven. There is also an art and crafts gallery, a plant shop and refreshments. Established in 1922, the garden is set in the heart of the New Forest. All the buildings are thatched including Furzey House, which is said to be the largest thatched cottage in the forest.
