Many fine eateries in Galveston if you go you must try Speculoos patisserie & Cafe for breakfast or lunch. the food is wonderful and different and the pasteries are to die for. Every thing is made fresh daily. It can't be beat . Its at 216 23rd street right off The Strand. Be sure to check the pictures on the walls.... More

If you havent been there you need to go. I spent several months there. ( while on an assignment ) and had a great time. The people are inviting and the beaches and sunrises and sets are fantastic. The best part is your money will go a long way compared to other beach destinations. If youve never been---go. if you have been-- youll be back !!... More

TexasGalveston is a fantastic place to visit. From little eateries shops and nightclubs on the Strand to Rainforest Cafe on the Seawall. If you would like to try some wonderful mediterranean style cuisine stop in and say hi to Mazen Zeidan the owner and chef extraordinaire of the Mediterranean Chef Restaurant on 23rd and The Strand in historical downtown Galveston. There are antique shops clothing shops souvenir shops even horse and buggy rides. The Strand also offers a fare of sidewalk enertainment on weekends. During the summer one can find everything from sidewalk artists to an accomplished violinist named Mario Ahllba. For family fun be sure to check out the entertainment at Moody Gardens and the Island's new Schlitterbahn's. Though the hotel accommodations are a little expensive on the weekend (expect to spend $80.00 up for the night depending on the number of occupants; and there are a couple of hotels a little less expensive) the Island is well worth the time and money.
