1.Pyramid Paradise?

I traveled to the pyramids twice - once in March 2000 and again in February 2007. Both times I had to be very cautious about hecklers. Once you get to the pyramids don't fall for "helpful guys" who want to practically walk you hand-in-hand from the car to the pyramids. They'll CHARGE YOU BIG TIME for their niceties. Once you get to the pyramids don't fall for "helpful guys" who want to practically walk you hand-in-hand from the car to the pyramids. They'll CHARGE YOU BIG TIME for their niceties. Also, they will try to get you to pay for a donkey ride. Trust me, it is faster by foot. It's quite interesting to observe the people who visit this wonder of the world. As with all wonders, be careful and observant of your surroundings - take in the aura of history but don't believe all you hear from the nice Egyptian shepherds and roamers. You should have a great time as long as you are aware.

Last time I was there was the spring prior to 9-11. It was one of the most interesting trips as Egypt has a vast museum of ancient artifacts. We made the trip during the early month of May. It is best to go between Jan and May of the year as the heavy black fly season begins in June as the heat soars to well over 100 degrees. It can ruin your experience because just the bus ride to the pyramids can be four hours one way. It is not safe for woman to travel alone and should have a male comp... More
