My first trip was July of 2002 and I was hooked and have been back every year to explore different parts of the vast trail system. There is something there for everyone. Day hikes short walks boating back country international access. Great facilities both in and around the park. Short hikes' like Hidden Lake day hikes on the Highline to Granite Park Chalet or up to Ptarmigan Tunnel Back Country to Goat Haunt and Waterton. Glacier will dazzle and charm you. Don't feed the goats their already on... More

We have been to many and Glacier is one of the most wonderfully wild of the the parks. Meaning not so touristy but just enough. We recommend staying at any of the Park's Lodges because there is so much history connected with them and they have great service and a special atmosphere. Take a 'Jammer' tour bus trip around the park. They are fun not too many people and an historic way of touring the park. Then you can do the "Going to the Sun Road" later again in your own car. Take a 'Jammer' tour bus trip around the park. They are fun not too many people and an historic way of touring the park. Then you can do the "Going to the Sun Road" later again in your own car. I know there are the Sun tours which are popular but never took those. Also enjoy the Amtrak station which drops passengers off at the park just like it has been doing for decades. This is one of my favorite parks and it is more hmmm awesome than Rocky Mountain. Enjoy your time and watch for your first grizzly bear!
